Connection test

Send a test barcode

Check your tablet's Send or Collect workflow against a public HTTPS endpoint.

Profile setup

  1. Create a Send profile in Scanrivo. Set method to POST, authentication to None, and HTTPS endpoint to https://scanrivo.ceritapps.com/api/test/scan.
  2. Leave the advanced field mappings at their defaults. Keep Endpoint deduplicates stable IDs off: this test receiver does not deduplicate or retain record IDs.
  3. Enter a synthetic code such as TEST-0001, then check History for Sent · HTTP 200. To test the offline queue, turn on airplane mode before scanning, then reconnect. WorkManager sends pending scans when it runs; this may take time. Reopening the app also schedules the worker.

Send mode submits one JSON record per scan. The service reads and validates the JSON body before acknowledging it.

Batch flush

Create a Collect profile with the same POST URL. Create a batch, scan synthetic codes, then tap Send batch. With default advanced settings, Scanrivo sends each record as a separate POST. To test one POST containing the whole batch, change the profile JSON's batchMode to SINGLE_REQUEST; keep responseContract as ALL_OR_NOTHING. Each accepted request returns HTTP 200.

Results

A valid single record receives {"accepted":true,"recordCount":1}. A batch receives its record count. Scanrivo currently shows the HTTP status in History, not this JSON response. To test a server failure, temporarily use https://scanrivo.ceritapps.com/api/test/fail; valid JSON receives HTTP 503. Restore the success URL after the test.

The receiver requires POST, JSON with a nonempty barcode string (or a records array of those objects), and a body no larger than 256 KiB. Invalid requests return 4xx. These endpoints are for Send and Collect, not Reader lookups.

Reader lookup

Create a Reader profile and choose Test lookup. Scanrivo sets the endpoint to https://scanrivo.ceritapps.com/api/test/lookup, method GET, and card fields for barcode, price, and stock. Scan any synthetic code: the service returns a sample product named Test product <barcode>; the same code always gets the same price and stock. Codes starting with NOTFOUND return HTTP 404, so the app shows Not found. The service also accepts a POST JSON body with a barcode string.

Use synthetic data only

Do not send real company barcodes, customer data, notes, API keys, or credentials. This public test service reads the request in memory, returns only a count or a generated sample product, and does not log or store the JSON body. It does not deduplicate IDs. The web host may still process standard connection metadata.
